She got her very first musical role in the musical staging of ‘Wonderful Town’ not long after. When she starred in the musical revue, Billy Barnes People, in 1961 in Los Angeles, her first great break came in. The play only lasted for six performances after transferring to Broadway.In the Broadway Production of ‘Hello Dolly!’, she was cast as a stand-in at first.
