He started working with American guitarists Adam Bomb and Scott Earl. Scott Earl became a member of a heavy metal band named Culprit. In the beginning, Geoff Tate performed Van Halen and Rainbow covers under the name ‘Jeff Waterfall’. His band lost a competition to a band named Fifth Angel. Thereafter, Tate moved to another band, Babylon. At that time, Babylon was a progressive band. Then he got a chance to sing with The Mob. This band used to play covered songs, but later started writing original material and became Queensryche. After some time, Babylon broke up.
